Awesome cabin, however there was snow coming in through the cracks in the corner of the cabin from the wind. Took a while for the heater to warm it up in the -12 degree weather but impressively it got hot enough we had to turn it down. Beautiful views on all sides!

What a lovely cabin and hiking experience! While there was still a decent amount of snow between miles 6-9, it was still such a beautiful area and our damp shoes and socks only made the appearance of the cabin within the valley an even more welcome site. The cabin was spacious, with 4 bunks, counter space and a table for dining, cards and puzzles. We didn't try to use the stove, but it was perfectly comfortable without any heat. We didn't spot anyone else on the trail or nearby, making it a perfect escape.

We love Devil’s Pass Cabin and have stayed there in past years and never had issues. I am giving a lower rating this time around because the stove stopped working and we had to leave a night early. I reached out to recreation.gov to resolve the issue, but they just pointed me to their strict cancellation policy. If other folks had trouble with the stove as well, I would urge someone to come up for maintenance. This time around, we planned our trip in late May and prepared to hike through significant amounts of snow. It all worked out and our snowshoes came in handy on this beautiful, albeit strenuous, 10ish mile hike up. However, we were greeted by a young g couple who were staying in the cabin without reservation. They were friendly and quick to leave our cabin and pitch their tent a few hundred feet away from the cabin. It was still an uncomfortable and awkward experience after a long, tiring hike. For anyone planning a trip up here or hiking resurrection pass, please be prepared for significant amounts of snow until at least mid-June. The other campground on Devil’s Pass was completely snowed in, which is why this couple decided to cabin “squat”. Do your research, please. And stay safe!
