We stay at White Sulphur every year and have been doing so for decades. There was abundant firewood in the shed and the cabin was in good condition. There were 2-3 trees down across the trail in. If I’d brought a chainsaw I’d have cut them out. We didn’t sleep much because it was bright inside the cabin at around 2am thanks to the skylights.

Fortunate for good weather—was able to get dropped off and picked up by skiff right in front of cabin site. (Although left a day early due to changing weather report). There was a half rotting deer carcass just 10 yards west of the bathhouse. Brown bear sow and cub visited the site, but detoured when we made noise. Plenty of rounds of wood in the shed and 3 mauls and a hatchet, however a file to sharpen them would have been helpful. The water catch system from the back of the wood shed was a helpful source. Picked up a garbage bag full of plastic bottles from walking the beaches. Sure wish a coastal cleanup could be arranged!

Very special location and one of a kind experience. Remoteness makes it what it is. Cabin and bath house were in very tidy nice condition. I noticed outhouse pit looked like it might be getting full up in not to distant future. Maybe maintenance to encourage composting May extend life.
