This is a great place to spend a few days and this is our third trip to this cabin. One important health concern I have is that the cabin is heavily infested with white-footed mice or deermice and their droppings. The cabin could also use some restorative work. It has degraded significantly since our last visit two years ago, as well as a padlock for the front door. .

The road is rough which my husband loved, but such awesome views on the way there. I couldn’t believe how much of the mountain had burned from the fire years ago. The cabin had little extras like a propane stove, playing cards, mattresses, broom, etc. It’s rustic and could use a little extra care. Outhouse was well maintained. Great fire pit. Bring your own bedding and pillow. Take a small hike, we saw 2 deer. Creek nearby is wonderful, even saw 5 trout surprisingly. We drove up the Cuddy Mountain Trail to the Overlook - stunning views. The road to Hornet Reservoir is pretty rough, but again it’s beautiful with nice areas to picnic or camp close to the water. I’ve driven past the sign to Buck Park many times and always wanted to go see what was out there, and I’m so happy we finally did.

This one is hard to review. Positives are that it is very isolated and in a beautiful area. Negatives are that it is definitely hard to reach. I went in on a big ADV motorcycle and it was a challenge. No cars are going to make it without some damage. The cabin itself is very small and bare bones. There are lots of cheaper cabins that are much better so I won't be back to this one.
