This was my fourth stay. I go there for the peace and quiet. This time, there was a horse trailer literally right outside the gate. When I went out at 11pm to stargaze, they had their TV or music on, not loud, but loud enough to be distracting. And again around 630am-7'ish. I was very disappointed. Quiet time in campgrounds is around 10pm to six or 7am. They should be held to the same standard. Or made to park somewhere further away from the cabin. Dont get me wrong, I love the place. Solar lights are great, new bathroom door was great, and I hope to visit again, just not with with neighbors so close by. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hogan Cabin is a great spot to relax, watch the Sandhill cranes and listen to song dogs at night! If you stay here, you may meet folks hiking the entire Continental Divide Trail from Canada to Mexico. Offering a cold drink, the use of the cabin’s outhouse or to take some of there trash will be greatly appreciated by thru hikers!

First time at the Hogan cabin. Beautiful area and lots of trails and hiking opportunities. Wonderful to have a creek nearby to filter water so you don’t have to haul it in. Didn’t use any of the cookware, dishes, and utensils as we carry our own in a camping tote. Nice to have the covered area to sit under during rain or just out of the sun. Would liked to have had screens on windows or a screen door to be able to open for a breeze as it warms up inside during the day. There is a broom for sweeping but couldn’t find a mop to clean the floor. The road in is accessible by car. The cranes were in the meadow area every day and did see quite a few elk tracks on our hikes, but no elk. Loved the solar lights.
