Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in late July. So quiet and an insane amount of stars at night. No complaints about the listed amenities. A gem.

Clean little bunkhouse with an excellent firepit, so many wildflowers, and views for miles. And we found morels to cook with our butter and garlic!

Rustic but comfortable. Beautiful view from the top of the mountain looking into the canyons.

The photos are out of date on the listing - the WW2 era beds have been replaced with modern twin over full size bunks sleeping a total of probably 6 inside (couples on lower, singles on top). Cell service was outstanding for T Mobile - over 200 Mbps - you can see the towers in the distance of the cell site. The lantern on the right side as you come in likes to backfire and was unusable for our evening there despite changing out the mantel - plan on brining your own lighting. We used the other lantern on the wall along with some smaller LED lamps. The heater is great for our shoulder season overnight and the light pollution is zero at this site. We tried some star gazing, but had clouds roll in late evening. It was clear in the morning when we left around 5:30 am to return home and had a great view of the Milky Way. Will definitely add to my list of spots to hit for early and late season. In October the road was busy early with what I'm assuming was hunters headed back in toward Mt Emily. This is a very washboarded gravel road pretty wide up until the last mile. Could definitely get most cars and SUVs into the side without an issue. Solar would be problematic at this site, it is heavily treed and has great visibility to the west.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin is clean and the view is incredible. When we woke up there was a huge herd of sheeps around the cabin! Not something you see everyday.
