Beautiful place. You truly feel the rainforest experience. No fish when we were there. No trout in streams either. I've read there are no resident trout on POW but I don't have confirmation of this. Beautiful beach exploring. The cabin itself is a nice but needs some work. Basic cleaning. There were cobwebs all over when we arrived. The stove is effective but smaller than those in other cabins we have stayed in. The outhouse is in terrible shape and needs to be moved as it is completely full! Gross. It seems that this cabin has not been taken care of by the people staying there as much as others, nonetheless it's a beautiful place. Great crabbing from what is written in the log. The reported Kayak is no longer on site from what we could find.

Pretty easy to find the parking area, nice little gravel path that leads to the cabin. Cabin is in great shape. Wood stove, and there was plenty of wood when we arrived, don't know if that is always the case. There was a single kayak and a crab bot on the property, but we did not get the chance to use them. Drove to Dog Salmon run and saw a bear fishing in the little falls. The best part was the location of the cabin. Very secluded, and right on the inlet. Great views. So peaceful. We were just there one night, but would love to go back and spend more time. You do have to drive a ways off the highway on dirt/gravel roads, but well worth it. Oh, and there is an outhouse near the cabin.

This is a great little cabin in a remarkable location. A few things to be prepared for: No cell coverage. Wood fire place not good for cooking. Works great to warm cabin. Wood is difficult to get nearby. If possible, bring it. Bring something to light cabin inside. Head lamp works but isn’t ideal.

The cabin was great and the crabbing and bear hunting was exceptional. We had a great time. The only challenge was wood. There was no wood at the cabin so we purchases Viking bricks. However, they were a bit challenging to find. That said, the stove kept the cabin cozy and the entire week was a fantastic experience.

The twelvemile cabin way exceeded our expectations. Very clean and as advertised. There was wood to burn and we left some ourselves. Someone has also left two kayaks with a paddle a piece. Thank you so much USFS for the opportunities for out of staters to come to AK and take in what the state has to offer.
