A fantastic, rustic cabin with an incredible view off the back patio! We were very comfortable with 6 Adults and 4 Kids. The directions were a little tough for me ... to add, the gate is at the end of a trailhead parking lot. The gate is at: 34°49'47.37"N and 111°47'58.22"W; from there it's down the hill on a wide gravel road and left at the T-end towards the cabin driveway. Two kitchen 'issues' : the stovetop burners were on/off ... no temperature control and the oven smoked like a chimney (dirty and no temperature control); and the fridge ice-maker did not work (I know - a luxury!). Since the cabin accommodates up to 12, and while there is a large picnic bench off the kitchen, it would be nice to have more than 6 chairs for the dinner table in the great room. The patio BBQ is great - newer, hot, large 4x-burner surface area. Comfortable beds and bathrooms; the small sink-shower bath off the kitchen is in need of some TLC / remodeling. With small kids, suggest there are a number of safety hazards that can be handy-man fixed; exposed rebarb tips in the pony wall that could be cut-off, some trip-spots in the walkways. Suggest the next 'upgrade' would be the futon/couch coverings in the great room; feeling more 'grungy' than 'rustic'. Overall, we had a great two nights; highly recommended and exceptional value at $200/Night for the location (VRBOs and AirBnBs at $500++). Thanks to the volunteer cleaners, the courteous Crescent Moon Ranch Park hosts, and the USFS for the Cabin Program! We'll be back!

Excellent historical place and beautiful views. Enjoyed the stay and it was comforting temperature even though it is cold night.

It's not really a cabin, it's an elegant 1930's era ranch house with a functional full kitchen, three bathrooms with hot/cold water, baths, toilets, abundant plug-ins for your devices. Lovely large living room with two futons. Four bedrooms. Great patio, overlooking the riparian creek bottom. Sits by itself adjacent to Oak Creek downstream from Sedona. To access Oak Creek trails: facing the garage, walk to left side and follow foot path down, across irrigation canal, past fenced garden area to the creek.
