They removed the inside wood burning stove, just before our weekend, when fire season was ended, and it was getting cold wet and rainy, with no other source of heat. Why they would choose to do this before the end of their rental season makes no sense to me. So sitting around the fire ring in Western Oregon in October was about as wet as you can imagine. There was no firewood cut, but we brought scrap wood from job sites as a base, or we could not have gotten a fire going at all after the several days of rain just before we got there, and the rain most every day we were there.

Wood stove wasn’t listed as “gone” or “removed” so we read description as a warm cozy cabin and there was no heat source when we arrived. Left night of stay

The cabin was very close to the road. I was expecting it to be off the road and behind a gate. The cabin roof needs repaired and the mattress covers need to be cleaned or replaced. Not a bad place, it works well for a stop over or place to stay while traveling. Not recommended for a place to stay multiple nights.

This cabin is awesome. It’s peaceful, secure, comfortable and pretty remote. Outhouse doesn’t stink! I slept on the fold out sofa because it seemed more sanitary and spacious. Weather was perfect. I really appreciate being able to open the windows, lock the door, use picnic table and indoor table. Ranger station staff were helpful when I had questions and I can see people are taking good care of this special place. I also like the natural wood interior.

Tree hit the roof needs repair. Good place if you don’t mind no kitchen or bathroom. Make sure to bring mattress pads for the bed.

Just one night on the gorgeous Aufderheide Scenic Byway. It’s located near the middle of the route, which was perfect! The site is beautiful and very private and feels super spacious. The cabin itself is quite simple and rustic, but it met/exceeded our expectations as set by the listing. And it’s very cute. And the deer that visited while we enjoyed the fire pit. and nearby meadow full of butterflies made the stop a very special experience.

Excellent cabin with comfortable beds. The futon bed/couch was unable to fully come up to a sitting position. A nice table and chairs. We didn’t have to make a fire in the wood stove as the temps were warm. Very few mosquitos at the cabin. Outhouse was rustic, but had toilet paper. Nice that the windows have screens. A noisy mouse chewing on wood the first night, but filled the holes with aluminum foil and it stopped. Deer outside the cabin licking the ground and chewing on rocks at night. That was weird.

Had a wonderful time. Cabin well built, woodstove worked wonders for an unexpectedly colder stay than we had planned. Great location for day trips in the car or hiking straight from the cabin. Will come back!
