Beautiful spot. Road up is very rough and nearest town is 1 hour + so be prepared. Lots of bugs due to the beaver pond 100 ft from the cabins.

Couldn’t have been more perfect! What a great way to experience life in the late 1800’s.

Neat place, if you can't reserve the cabins there are many dispersed camping sites up and down the road. Beats setting up a tent.

Drove from Denver for one night at Crescent Mining Camp while stopping at Leadville, Twin Lakes and Independence Pass along the way. Loved the site and it is HUGE. We had two pups and you have access to 2 of the 4 cabins on site as well as an outhouse. There is room for at least 4-5 other tent camping sites and all of it is reserved under the mining camp. It's about 50 yards from the creek and some walkable old closed off-roading trails. Cabin 1 could fit at least 3 large air mattresses and Cabin 2 could fit at least 2. They are sealed off from the outside and have modern windows with screens so you can get a breeze. There are two established firepits, one metal with a grill for cooking and one stone. The private drive locks with a substantial metal gate and using the padlocks on the gate, cabins and outhouse was easy. We will definitely be back! Note - the road to get to the cabin private drive is off-roading, no phone service and rough for 30 minutes coming from the Twin Lakes area. I would not take a normal passenger car on it, we have a lifted Jeep. I didn't think this was properly explained in the details and instructions.
