Caught one mouse on second night. No signs/sounds of bear visiting. Beaver seen in pond across road toward evening. Pit toilet clean and stocked. Cabin a nice place to make memories and spend time. Canadian border to Wurtz landing a perfect day of floating. Wurtz to Ford a nice evening float. Ford to Polebridge another nice day’s float topped off by dinner at Northern Lights Saloon. No concerns about our stay. Locale great for river access. Field in front of cabin allows for evening soccer or baseball. Just be aware of ground squirrel holes.

Great get away in a convenient location on the north fork. Fully furnished kitchen for cooking meal for latge groups. Lots of room for a bunch of people. The kids loved running around and the campfire.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Wurtz Cabin. We have enjoyed it both times. It is a great location and the size of the rooms makes it perfect for a group. As always, the Forest Service Cabins are a great value.

We really enjoyed our night spent in this historic cabin and the views are breathtaking! Only reason we didn’t give 5 stars was that not everyone who stays cleans the floors and surfaces after they leave, so we had a lot of grime. It’s pretty far away from FS offices for recreation staff to get out there between guests to check. We came prepared for that, with plenty of cleaning supplies and brought our own kitchen supplies, etc. The cabin was well stocked with cutlery, plates, cups, cookware and all.
