One of the best cabins I've ever stayed in! Really great spot. Easy hike in.

First day of motorized access and some very large trees prevented the stay. Dangit

The cabin was in good shape and no mice! they are logging the Goose creek road and it goes right up to the back of the cabin...too bad. what a mess... The road was closed to ATVs and other use, but we saw at least 4 different groups use the road and trail while we were there.

We had a great time! Cabin was very clean and well stocked. Note that there are in fact mattresses at the cabin. The hike in is nothing to scoff at and it would be very difficult to drag a sled in or a wagon on the Newman Creek access (2.3 miles). Very doable, but if you are hiking in, I recommend just a backpack. Absolutely gorgeous, woodstove was so warm and toasty. Plan to bring your own cookware and silverware, the mice have gotten into those. We hiked to Bear Lakes, which was a great route. There is no cell service, I recommend the Avenza USFS map download.

Hiked in in a snowstorm, the fireplace was a life saver - probably the most efficient and warm I've used in one of these cabins. I've been multiple times now, and it's always been great; woodshed well stocked, pit toilet clean, the space is tidy and has the usual amenities (baring water, which is always hit or miss). There's some traffic from atvs and hunters, but otherwise remote enough to see plenty of wildlife. By far my favorite cabin for short getaways.

Hike in was beautiful and pretty easy. No issues with parking. Got a visit from a herd of cows that passed in front of the cabin. Cabin itself was great and well provisioned. Liked that there was a fence around cabin for my dog to hang out unleashed
