It was a great site with hiking not to fare away. In the evening got to see some of the local wild life pass through.

Beautiful spot! I was taught the "sandwich" style of performance review, in which you start with the good, mention room for improvement, and then conclude with good vibes. The good: this is a beautiful site! It's about 20 minutes to and from Moab, which makes it fairly remote but still accessible. The campsite is located at the confluence of two canyons; the road continues up Kane Creek Canyon while Hunter Canyon branches out to the east (it's a beautiful hike!). It was March when we visited, and we had the place to ourselves in the morning and evenings. Except for one night when a group of nature lovers partied in the parking lot for a couple hours listening to music. We rode the Hymasa > Captain Ahab trail one day, which is burly and beautiful. The Jeep trail on amasa back is insane. The Amasa Back parking lot is only a few minutes drive from camp. We packed gear to climb at the nearby Ice Cream Parlour but never made it over there. It rained the last two days of our trip and we opted to go for a hike instead. There is a lot to do in this canyon! The bad: tent sites were fairly limited. If you have more than 3 tents you might end up sleeping fairly close to the other people in your group. There was room for several smaller tents down by the creek but if you have more than 4 or 5 tents in your group it will be a little bit crowded. We had four tents at one point with two large tents that had to be places close together. There is some noise and traffic nearby, which should be obvious. This is an entrance to some jeep trails to the SW. Also, Moab is busy. We went in March and enjoyed less traffic (and also some cooler temps). If you are looking to explore other areas around Moab it can make for a lot of driving (~35 to 40 minutes round trip just to get to and from Moab). tldr; Beautiful Site! Kind of remote which adds to driving time. Isolated spot with only one campsite which makes for some memorable and quiet evenings. Good biking and climbing nearby.

Absolutely loved this site, it's all by itself away from other campers. The switch backs were a bit intimidating but we all got down no problem in full size long bed trucks towing trailers with our jeeps on them. Just take your time and you will be fine. The site is large and flat, plenty of space once we had the jeeps off the trailers there was still plenty of open space. It is right next to the road so you see people driving by, We were there 2nd week of September on most the campsites beyond were empty, not sure if they fill up other times of there year, but that could definitely add to the traffic.

This was incredible. It is an amazing site for a group, or just a few people. Amazing location, perfect weather, beautiful night sky, thanks for the best site on our cross country adventure.
