I sure wish the forest service would put some "gates" on the fence-line immediately surrounding the cabin. Cows kept coming into the cabin's porch area and dumping enormous fresh sloppy cowpies . . . and you'd step off the porch into a slick mess. I understand the policy to have cattle graze the property . . . but A few swinging gates would solve everything! thanks--ted

We had a great six night stay (late March into early April). We hiked up the two-track across the road up the hill where there were great views and frequent mule deer - and turned the hike into a loop by coming down a drainage to the west. Went fishing down the main stem of Rock Creek and did very well. Rode our bikes on the road up to where it is closed for the winter, and went off on a forest road to explore. Plenty of wood to split for the stove. Everything was great and we enjoyed it immensely.

Really great stay for four nights in Nov. 2024. Kind of chilly, and off and on snowy, but we kept the wood stove going and relaxed. We went up the track across the road for a few hikes, with nice views of the Pintlars and Mount Emerine. Saw a moose east of the cabin near the corral one day. Quite a few hunters driving up and down the road scouting the willows.

The perfect cabin! Wonderful to have a full kitchen, the electric stove kept us plenty warm, and the dogs loved running in the meadows. Very well taken care of and clean.

Perfect cabin to spend Mother’s Day weekend with my Mom! A walking trail parking lot across the road makes a loop and comes out behind the cabin. We did have hikers stop to use the outhouse and let their dogs run around (just an FYI). The creek is very close, and if you leave your window cracked at night, you’ll be able to fall asleep listening to it. Can’t wait to be back!
