The trip to the Lookout is long. Make sure your vehicle has plenty of gas and you have what you need to camp minus going back to town. Once at the top - you’ll need to be prepared to walk/hike up another 1/2 - 3/4 mile, which is relatively steep. The views are beautiful and worth the trip!

Beautiful views, solitude, etc. A wonderful respite. note that the FS road up to cabin is several miles beyond the community of Yaak to the left. The parking area is ONE mile past the gate, not THREE, as the directions indicate.
