Long fairly decent drive in. Lookout clean and well stocked. Stayed a couple peaceful nights. Hike up though short, is tiring carrying gear up to outlook. A little smoky in the distance. A very enjoyable time.

The reward at the top is well worth the short but steep hike. There are a couple of short waterfall hikes you can do on the way to or from the lookout that extend the adventure. Look for trailheads labeled Westfork Cascadia and West Fork Yaak Falls.

From stunning sunsets to spectacular sunrises, Garver Lookout provides incredible views amidst the boulders, trees and alpine wildflowers. Road to the lookout is in decent shape, a few bumps and maneuvering yet very manageable. Fill your backpack for the short hike to the lookout and bask in nature's glory. Two good mattresses, another on the floor, a wood stove and basic lookout supplies are present. Outhouse was clean and in good shape for early season use.

The walk-in made the lookout feel more secluded but brought ease by providing the important necessities that we didn’t need to bring: an amazing shelter and comfy mattresses. Beautiful setting.
