What a great treat this place is for the area. We saw a fox on the full moon and played cards all night.

Our family of four really enjoyed having Redfish Lake almost to ourselves for 48 hours. The cabin was equipped with the essentials and the electric heat was more than sufficient. We enjoyed walks ON the lake, snowshoeing up to the ridge, and sledding right in front of the cabin. This sled was also super helpful for us to haul gear in and garbage out going to and from the cabin from our car. (The snow covered road was well packed and we didn’t need snowshoes or traction devices). Definitely would go again.

What a fantastic stay we had at the Redfish Cabin! We visited in late January, and stayed for two nights. We did bring our own water, but next time might rely on melted snow water more. The cabin was clean, warm, and had more amenities than we expected (pots & pans, dishes, hand towel, etc.) but I don't think you can count on it being well stocked. The pit toilet was much cleaner than most. We skied in and out and were wowed by how fun it was to ski on the lake. There were two of us, and a friend joined us for one of the nights. I really cannot imagine having more than three adults in the cabin, but it would be possible. Many thanks to the forest service for making this cabin available to us, and for keeping it in good condition.

Great spot—not used to fed cabins and it’s electricity, but wasn’t mad about it.
