Microwave oven didn't work. It MIGHT have a reset method, best determined from an operator manual.

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely cabin nestled in the junipers and live oaks. The cabin is well equipped but the oven needs a serious cleaning. I was scared to use it especially after reading that a mouse had been inside. All else was clean and left clean.

This is a lovely place to spend a few days! The area is very quiet and there were a few hiking trails just a short distance away. The cabin itself is beautiful and very spacious. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. and we had no problem finding everything we needed to cook meals. There is a fire ring and propane BBQ with some outdoor furniture and a few benches for seating. We brought some board games, but it wasn't really necessary as there is a large shelf in the living room with tons of puzzles, board games, pens and pencils, and a few books. A few games were missing some pieces, but it was still plenty to entertain the group for a couple of days. The main bedroom has a queen, the second bedroom had 2 sets of bunk beds (1 was a twin over double) and there were two futons also available. My only complaint is that not all the windows had screens so we were unable to open as many windows as I would have liked which made it hot and muggy at night. Plus some of the widows that did have screens were ill-fitting so the bugs were terrible and we got really bit up while there. There were 3 working portable fans, but I'd bring one or two fans if you are planning on staying during the summer.

This is a special place; however, when you walk in the door you never quite know what you might find. This trip, the house and furniture was filthy! When we sat on sofas, we ended up covered in hair and eventually welts. It was so bad that I went back home and got my vacuum and steam cleaner that had furniture attachments. I know pets are welcome, but if you bring your pet, please clean up after your all aspects of your pet. To future guests, you might want to pack a dustbuster and sheets to throw over the couches. Also, if you spill something in the fridge, let your kids kiss the windows, bring sand in from outside, use the fireplace, spill on the stove, use the bathroom...clean it up! It is part of your agreement and there is not a maid. The mouse that lives there has gotten pretty big, so put your food away! Some tips, if you plan to use the grill, check the propane first thing. Don't forget a lighter. We had none. Someone needs to bring up drinking glasses and maybe a couple more wine glasses. Thank you to the person who donated the hummingbird feeder and instructions. Don't forget to pack some nectar and birdseed. We saw numerous Bluejays and hummingbirds. 2 deer hung out all day. You cannot beat how wonderful this place is. It is a treasure. Just keep in mind, you are responsible for the complete cleanup of the home -- please leave it cleaner than you found it. Like everyone else says... the road is rough. Take it easy going in, the right fork is better than the left fork. We are so lucky to be able to share this beautiful home in the secluded woods.
