The horse pens are big and nice and have water available, but be aware that this country is rocky, including the pens. Unfortunately, where the trailers are parked does not allow for direct vision of the pens. The parking area is large and easy to maneuver even a large trailer. It has a good slope, though, so leveling help is needed when parking for a stay. The highway is only about 100 yards away, therefore road noise may be disturbing to some, and the vehicle headlights affect stargazing vision other than the north sky. The vault toilet is well kept, and the picnic area is nice. Trail access is directly across the gravel road, and the trails are moderate to challenging. It seemed every plant had stickers or spines, so there’s incentive to stay on the trails! I would definitely consider staying here again for a stopover spot or for a couple of ride days.

Great & roomy site with a good view of the sunset. Note that the restroom does not contain a sink, but there is a working water spigot over the trough in one of the horse corrals. You are in a parking lot so there may be some light traffic for use of the trailhead and restroom.

Hmmm... Let's start with the positives... This campsite has a private bathroom (outhouse) that's clean and very nice. The site itself has two very nice areas for tents plus ample parking. Plus, while not relevant to our group, there are stables colocated with this site... The reality is that this site is only about 200 feet away from the highway. There is lots of traffic overnight and the road noise is [usually] notable. In our case, that wasn't an issue as the wind was blowing at 40 - 60 mph from the opposite direction, so the traffic wasn't notable. The challenge is that the site is in complete solitude; there are no other sites nearby. This might be considered good by some, but when a truck drove by our campsite at 2AM, this was considered more of a risk / security concern for the females in our group. There is absolutely zero solace from the wind... As we've learned, the extreme winds are somewhat of a common occurrence in this area... Our tent did survive the night, but the poles are all very bent, so the wind is VERY real... So, I'm not complaining, but I did want to share our experience just to give you more insight into this particular campsite... Good luck!
