Clean when we arrived. Some confusion as to how to operate the propane but we eventually figured it out. Everything works and is as advertised. The place could use a coat of paint and it would be nice if someone were to donate a couch to the cabin. Bring comfy camp chairs if you plan to spent much time inside the cabin. You don't need to bring your own toilet paper - plenty in the new pit toilet that even has concrete floor. Kitchen table is small and only suited for two people. Folks have left behind some puzzles, a few kitchen knives, some bowls, a bad mitten net, a chessboard, and a few pots. Loved the peace and quiet! There is a small stream nearby to get water from - not sure if it would be running in summer though...

Be ready to secure your food from mouses. The old mattresses are pretty beat up. The lights, stove/oven, heater and fridge all worked for us. We filtered water during the winter from the nearby creek.

It has been awhile since it snowed, but there was a large tree blocking the road and stuck in the snow on the last road up, indicating it had been there awhile. There are lots of fallen trees in the area but this one made it so we could not get up to the cabin. Not sure what all the other people did who had reservations even the day before we went. No sign of footprints or vehicle tracks anywhere. Forest shows signs of recent fires, but still beautiful. May try again another time.....

Great place to relax. All issues mentioned in previous reviews have been resolved. Gate lock was fine and we were able to access the road into the cabin. Carbon monoxide detector had been replaced with a new duel fire/CO detector. The window that had been broken from a previous season has been replaced. We spent a wonderful 3 days at the cabin with 3 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of space inside of all of us, 4 of us on beds and one on a sleeping mat. Heater inside kept us warm as it was sunny but chilly. I would recommend that you have plenty of extra lights. We brought battery operated lanterns and light strings, we are so glad we did. The propane wall lanterns are so dim we didn't even bother to use them. The kitchen area has plenty of space for cooking and dishes work, one of the best I have used. People have left small things over time, a few bowls, plates, a pot, pan, spoons etc, but most of it needed a good washing and not something you should count on. Bring everything you need for cooking but those extras might come in handy if you forget something. Lastly, there are instructions to operate the appliances and the trundle beds, everything is in a drawer in the kitchen area. We were very pleased with the cabin and our stay. We will surely rent it again sometime in the future.
