It was awesome. Words can't describe it and pictures don't do it justice. Although I'd love to share some. The sunsets and the sunrises competed to take my breath away but the stars might've won the battle. While I didn't have to look up to enjoy them because they were all around me as if I was on top of the world. It was like being in a space ship. LOL Incomparable to anything I've experienced. Thanks for the memory 😁 The gas stove worked great. Everything was clean. The bed was soft. The road was a fine for my little 2 wheel drive Ford Ranger. I would highly recommend it.

Loved our stay at the Lake of the Woods Lookout! Choose your own adventure up there, lots of paths and roads to hike around and we found the lake of the woods! We google mapped to Motel 6 in Gold Beach, OR and proceeded from there. Along the forest roads you’ll find mile markers along the way to help find your route. It was pretty easy to navigate to the lookout, but keep in mind the last section of the road was narrow and a high clearance vehicle is necessary. The lookout had some cell service when we first got there and then it was hit or miss. Less service at night. We’ve stayed at a handful of lookouts and this one by far has the VERY BEST outhouse. It’s a small walk away from the tower and has the most incredible view of the landscape and ocean. BYO(toilet paper). The lookout had a nice cooking stove with two burners and a very small toaster oven in the middle that is connected to a propane tank outside. We were told to bring the small green propane tanks for a heater, but found no heater to attach them to. Bundle up! There also was a propane lantern in the center of the lookout that worked if you have lantern booties for lighting. There is a structure and curtain for a solar shower at the base of the lookout. But we did not find anything to shower with. Bring your own water and solar shower! The bed was quite comfortable, but make sure to bring a sheet or blanket to go over it and sleeping bags. The lookout had some cleaning supplies, dishes, utensils etc. There was no broom or dustpan to sweep out the lookout at the end, but there was one in the outhouse that we didn't want to bring inside. THE STARS ARE BEAUTIFUL! We saw Starlink go across the sky and couldn’t believe our eyes, almost extraterrestrial looking. Before or after your stay check out Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, corridor has little cell service. It starts 15 minutes south from Gold Beach, OR.
