Great cabin, great location. Bring mouse traps and fly paper or indoor fly spray. Lots of mice and flies, and there isn't anything provided at cabin..I killed 5 mice with 1 trap

Crystal Lake is a gem. The cabin is one of my new favorites. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and setup nicely. I can't wait to go back in the colder seasons to sit and read a book by the fireplace on the cozy recliner. It was well maintained, mowed, and cared for. Plenty of firewood, well stocked. The oven needs to be lit manually by pulling out bottom drawer, ignore instructions on stove. Also would love some instructions on how to light the propane lights. Some mice sign, lots of flies, and over friendly deer. Also it's much closer to the actual campground than I had envisioned, but gives you some distance away being off a private spur w/ gate. Large, Loud group in group camp spot was unfortunate, but tolerated. Daughter was stung by a bee, so if you're allergic be prepared. The lake is shallow, stocked with rainbows, busy recreation area, but so worth the drive!

Nice cabin to stay in. It was clean and rodent free when we stayed there. There was water outside, but we weren't sure if it was safe to drink. It was nice to have for washing dishes though. The propane lights were nice. It rained the whole time we were there, so the propane stove and fireplace were good to have. I think the only thing we didn't like was the view out the front is of the campground. It was very quiet when we were there.

Always a pleasure to go up there and spend time. We’ve gone every year for the past 3 years and plan on keep going. Hopefully our kids keep it going as long as we can.

I was tall enough to reach the shutters covering the windows, but others might have a problem. If some slabs were installed below the windows, it might help. Also, the barrier at the road was a little difficult to move. Sometimes that kind of problem is solved with a post and wheel at the center.

The cabin is well equipped with gas lights and a nice fireplace. The emergency radio in the cabin is interesting to listen to. The only downside is that due to disease and insect damage the forest service had to remove all the trees surrounding the cabin and in the adjacent campground. This means virtually no privacy from the campground. Several of the camp spots are right behind the cabin.
