If you love the sound and smell of two stroke engines this is the cabin for you. We used a snowmobile to access the cabin, which is one of the most beautiful cabins I've ever been to, we knew there would be some snowmobiles, as thats the price you pay to get to a cabin on a snowmobile. But there were days I counted more than 50 snowmobiles in the drainage. They would drive within 6 feet of the cabin (a few managed to get closer), they park and hang out within 30 feet of the cabin, pretty much all day there was a group there. Unlike other cabins there is no "respect cabin users" sign. I suppose if you are a rider this would be fun, but even then we could hardly have a conversation outside. I didn't even see a bird in the area, its sad to think about the impact that many (high impact) users has. Maybe midweek non-holiday, maybe drop 50 trees on the groom on your way in, maybe this isn't the place for folks who like to "access" on a snowmobile. There was wood, some pots and pans, stream was running enough to get water (got to dig through the snow), and the views were eye popping. The trail was easy to follow (look for the orange blazes off the groom and a trailer will make the going tough as there are some serious doo woops along the way) Thanks forest service for a rad opportunity, I just won't be using this one again.

It was fantastic. It was clean, easy to find, and plenty big enough. The hike had some decent vertical but nothing too crazy if you don’t have bad knees like I do.

Had a great time there - I spent 2 nights. 1st night rained most of the night and it was nice not having to get up and pack up a wet tent. It was nice sitting on the porch out of the rain watching the flashes from lightening. No roof leaks. The screen door kept out the mosquitoes. The small table with bench inside was convenient for cooking, and eating breakfast and dinner. I brought my own stove and pans but there were pans in the cabin. 3 bunks inside iirc. I hope to rent it again next summer
