Great experience if you're looking to get away for some wintery serenity.

Always like to go to the yurts! Some frustrations exist: -Not much cut wood, we were not afraid of running out, but two or three more groups after us may struggle. -Used to have basic kitchen supplies: stock pot (in addition to the one used for melting snow), a couple cooking pans & skillets, a couple large bowls, large spoons, spatula, can opener, cups, cereal bowls, plates, cutlery, etc. It's difficult to plan what to bring (and I'd rather not, if I don't have to add the weight). There was a time I donated many of these items just for the yurts. There was a large plastic container that slid under the bed with all this stuff in it. -There used to be some games, as well. -At least two snow shovels are needed. Leave one outside, under deck or something, to get to the door (at least it swings in now, that was a great change!)

Great trip but one major issue that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. The bad :: the outhouse was full - like three inches from the top full. Super gross - no need to describe in more detail! The rest of it was great. Yurt was clean and firewood was stocked. No dishes other than a pan to melt snow and a cast iron skillet. Toilet paper, paper towels, and hand wipes were plenty stocked. Sat on the deck and soaked up sun and watched the stars at night. Fireplace glass seal not tight, so it did get slightly smokey inside (not a big deal unless asthmatic). A little bit of a climb, but easily do-able if you don’t overpack. Awesome trip - will do it again.
