Stunning gray whale viewing from the beach in front of the cabin. However, the woodshed was basically empty, with a few knotty rounds that could never be split or used in the woodstove (which itself is in rough shape). Not sure what our $50/night is buying anymore.

It’s my favorite cabin so far. It’s on a smaller size so it’s easier to make it toasty. There’s also so much to explore in the area- tidal pools, beaches, lava cave… Lots of sea otters and river otters. Remote enough while still being accessible. Love this place so much!

Took my son and grandson to Brent’s Beach for my Grandson’s 12th birthday for a two night stay. This was my grandson’s first trip “roughing it” and he had a great time. He learned how to chop wood, start a fire, and live without electricity. He really enjoyed walking on the rocks during low tide to see the various wildlife in the pools. It was my second trip to Brent’s Beach and I had a great time during both visits. It is the perfect cabin for a small group. It would be nice to have a slightly larger deck with a small table for outside cooking and eating.

We arrived at the cabin and it was clean and well stocked with firewood. We spent time hiking and beach walking and swimming in the bay. We used the outdoor firepit for cooking and just sitting and enjoying the beautiful space.

The cabin was nice and clean with plenty of dry firewood inside. Someone had removed the majority of the rubbish left behind by other campers. The woodshed was well stocked, and the wood was decently seasoned. The ax is on its last leg and needs to be replaced. I would advise that you bring your own ax if your heading out. The wind was blowing out of the SE and resulted in good breakers on the beach. We had to paddle our gear to the rock spit to get to shore. The mooring buoy was getting hammered by the waves, and the boat had quite a rough ride on the first nite.

Great cabin! Perfect spot for exploring the nearby islands via kayak. We loved the big beach.

A nice paddle over from Starrigavan. Lots of whales, rafts of sealions and sea otters, seals and sea birds. Only one snow squall on the way back!

Love the location, however the wind direction and the tidal flats made me weary of my boat being anchored out when the wind picked up on our final day at the cabin. The sandy beach made it so I was comfortable beaching my whaler the first night, but the second night I would've had to anchor it further out into the bay (in the winds) to keep it from beaching in order to be able to leave the cabin at the appropriate time due to tides. I was able to walk my dogs to the nearby stream for them to drink from, and they had provided entertainment within the cabin at night as we had a mouse visitor when I left the window cracked a bit...

beautiful location with a big fine-sand beach right in front of the cabin. We had to do a quick load and unload from the skiff, so try to time them on a rising tide to avoid beaching. The cabin itself was wonderful with four wide bunks and lots of swings and hammocks in the woods and clearing around it! Great for a family excursion on a sunny day.
