Let me start by mentioning that we are avid campers. We are well aware that bugs are part of the experience. However, the situation at this campsite is excessive. I'm talking clouds of the stickiest, most aggressive flies I have ever encountered. We went through two cans of bug spray and it did not even phase them. Unfortunately, the flies were not the worst part! My kids and I were bitten badly by chiggers. I genuinely didn't even know we had chiggers in Utah, but I guess we do. I was glad I had packed itch cream. Miserable. Additionally, the campsite is right next to the main road and this means lots of road noise, headlights at night, and a constant flow of people using your campsite to turn around. We had people parking in our campsite to use our pit toilet and some even stayed in our campsite to fish the section of the river that flows through it. A few even brought off-leash dogs. The gate to the site was locked open, so we couldn't even close it to prevent the flow of traffic from entering. The bugs were the worst part though, for sure.
