My family and I have stayed at this cabin twice now. Both times have been awesome experiences. The nearby water trough spring is a great source of water (filter and boil of course). The huckleberries are in season in late August and the family had a great time picking and making huckleberry pancakes. The forest service and locals do a great job with the maintenance. Always recommend bringing a mouse trap with you to these sorts of cabins. Don’t always need them, but glad you have one if you need it. A great place to take the family on an adventure into the woods without taking tents, stoves, ect.

We had a great time in a beautiful location! Have a few suggestions for how to make it better for others: There are a LOT of mice that enter the cabin. Suggest that access points are filled/blocked, as the mice scurry around on all the supplies provided with the cabin. This is not sanitary. In addition, putting ALL the dishes in closed containers would also be more sanitary. Instructions direct that dishes should be washed, but there is NO detergent. Thankfully, we had sanitary wipes! The reservation info says there is a coded lock on the cabin door. This is not true. A latch does not keep out visitors without reservations. The outhouse was very filthy, with no cleaning supplies readily available. In spite of the cleanliness issue, the cabin's beautiful setting, availability, & plenty of firewood offers a great adventure! Thank you for providing warmth & shelter!!
