The site itself is wonderful - no issues there. Accessing the site was a different story. There are two gates, one at the road that allows entry to the full chatter creek camp site and the second seperates the single sites from the group site. The first gate is managed by the forest service and unlocks with a key, the second is managed by the "site manager" (receation.gov?) and is a combination lock. Neither were open when we arrived and the combo code for the second was not emailed to me. We spent HOURS on the phone with recreation.gov trying to resolve this, which included driving back and forth the 30 minutes between cell service and the site all while our group of about 25 was stuck outside the gate. We were finally able to get the combo code for the 2nd gate over the phone (after about 2 hours of trying) but could not reach anyone to help with the key for the 1st gate. After about 5 hours and almost giving up we were rescued by a campground manager from a site about 25 minutes away that we had stopped by with hopes he could help, he happened to have a key... Terrible service if the "site manager" is unavaible to provide the combo code for the gate promptly and unable to coordinate with the forest service to have the gate unlocked, for the price of this site I would expect a lot better. We love this site and have been there before and will rent again but this leaves a pretty bad taste in our mouths.
