The setting is beautiful and the history of the cabin is interesting. Beautiful and interesting places to including lakes, historic ghost towns. The mildew and molds were too strong inside the cabin for us to sleep. We would have opened downstairs windows but the only screen was in the front door and the mosquitos were hungry and needed to be kept at bay. we were not able to stay and loaded up and left due respiratory irritation from molds/mildew. Those with more hearty lungs might not have been impacted as much. The area is worth visiting even if you have to plan other lodging. I did not expect a fancy hotel and I do not want this to reflect bad on the Forest Service. Not sure anyone could expect more for $50 per night. Being provided propane, cook stove and utincils, wood stove, wood, and a roof is worth way more than that. Just an honest warning for anyone who may have more sensitive respiratory systems.
