My nephew and I spent a couple of days at this Yurt at the end of October. The Yurt was perfect! No need to setup a tent, and the fishing at the river was a lot of fun! This is a great campground!

It was neat to stay in a yurt! We lucked out going at the beginning of October, and the rest of the campground was empty, because, otherwise, we don't like to be in a campground. The photo of the firepit right next to easy access to the river is not by the yurt. One walks on a trail past 8 other campsites to get to that spot. Each campsite has access to the river, mostly a narrow trail to not much shoreline. The river access from the yurt is a very steep, narrow trail straight down to the water. Haha. We weren't swimming and were there to enjoy the views, and it was beautiful. The yurt site does not have a bear box.

It was a magical experience to stay in a lush rainforest with towering trees and berry bushes all around. There was hardly anyone staying on our side of the campground (probably because we were there on weekdays), so it was extremely quiet and peaceful. The yurt withstood a serious rainstorm on the first night just fine, and we were grateful to not be in a tent! Also enjoyed hiking on nearby trails. Would definitely love to return next year.

The yurt is just a canvas tent on a platform but it is really cool. It has a real door with a glass and a skylight to let in light. It has flaps you can raise for airflow. There is a table and chairs. The bed is a cheap metal bunk bed but I have slept in worse. Don’t expect to use the top bunk if you are not an acrobat. There appears to be a burrowing creature who inhabits the space below the floor and murine visitors inside. The campground is awesome with a beautiful river and huge larch trees. It has the cleanest, sweetest smelling outhouse I have ever had the pleasure of using. There is potable water but no firewood was available. My wife loved it so that made more pleasant to me.

We were so positively surprised at how picturesque the site of the yurt was! Additionally, it had just enough amenities to allow us to cut down on the gear we had to pack for our flights up: bunks, table chairs, lots of hooks to suspend packs. A truly wonderful experience.

Lovely place to camp, the yurt was nice as you could get out of the elements (weather). The lower mattress of the bunk bed, or the springs, were very worn out and uncomfortable. In fact, I woke up with sciatic pain on one side because of the poor quality of the mattress/springs and did not sleep well either. The spot was nice, close to the Yaak River, which would be great to kayak, so hopefully will return to this sweet little yurt, except sleep on the floor with padding. Hopefully it's available besides the summer months, as it's a nice little place to get away from town, your every day life, etc.
