This cabin is located in a beautiful area that feels pretty remote without taking you too far away from civilization, perfect for those who don't have an ample amount of vacation time. The creek running next to the cabin is the PERFECT ambient noise and great source for utility water. Hiking in the area is relatively easy to find with both road and trail to use, just pick a path and you'll be set. My only complaint, which is also why I am giving this less than five stars, is the mouse infestation. The smell of mice was pretty pungent and droppings were found everywhere, it was pretty difficult to sleep through the night as it affected our breathing. There was a note from the Forrest Service informing campers of a proposed demolition of the cabinets "in the near future" which were basically unusable due to the nests. Not sure how long that note had been there, but hopefully this has been done, I would suggest packing a tent for backup in case it hasn't and the problem has worsened.
