Spent 1 night out of a 2 night reservation. Nice and quiet area With an easy atv ride in here. The trail only has a few challenging spots. Only saw 1 other group on the way in and out so not over run with others!

The cabin was better than expected and well stocked. Great scenery in the area. The only negative was that the main trail was pretty beat up and sloppy from ATVs and horses that had been using it recently in wet weather. All in all a great experience.

The 6 mile ride in was beautiful and quiet! It was a treasured time in nature and we only saw 5 ATV on Saturday so again it was secluded and quiet! The horse corral is wonderful to have so our animals get a treat too!

I love these cabins, Off cow camp, is great, if you like roughing it. lots of cool stuff inside and the wood stove is to die for. Of course the views are killer. And there is a history sign on the fence by the cabin explaining how the cabin got it's name. Cooking a tomahawk steak on the outside grill and fire pit, nothing ever tasted better, sitting on the log seats watching the sun on the peak to the east. And it was a new moon so the stars were amazing. I wish you allowed pets inside, it rained really hard one afternoon and my dog had to be in the horse shed. I am 77 and never been on an ATV before, how hard can it be? The trail head at the upper end down burro creek, was horrible, but I don't think that trail was a good idea for a first trip on a death machine, (ATV) Only about 1 1/2 mile, seemed like 100. If you are good on an ATV, you will probably love the trail. I wanted to fish Burro Creek for some little brookies, but my fishing gear fell off the death machine, and someone must have picked it up, I couldn't find it. The "mattresses" on the single bunk beds, were a bit like rocks, but I was so sore from the death machine, they actually felt good. Had a great time, I have rented other cabins, guard stations, etc, and I love Rec.com. thanks for these incredible places. Anybody want to buy an old ATV??? (LOL). Oh, and thank God there is no cell service, cabins like this should bring us back to a simpler time. We friends and families sat around fires and actually talked.
