Have been going to the cabin for about 10 years now. Couple of things I'd suggest that need to be addressed. 1) The shower/tub needs upgrading. Tiles are falling off the walls and is a little gross. 2) The sink faucet in the bathroom has been broken for years. Other than that it's a great place to go and the fishing can be specular.

We had a wonderful time! There was significantly more traffic in the area than we have experienced ever before, starting very early in the morning (3:30 am) which distracts from the cabins serenity. Thank you for making tge cabin available.

Forty miles from the nearest towns and you have a propane fireplace, a full kitchen, hot water, and a bathroom with a flush toilet and shower. Amazing. Better than advertised. Do bring lanterns. The brighter the better.

The cabin was clean and refrigerator working. A few mice but to be expected. Great fishing.

We had a very good stay at the cabin. The only complaint is the full size mattress was very uncomfortable.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the cabin in late August. We got our reservation a week out due to a cancellation. We rode bicycles up from Avery, ID, stayed, then rode back. It was very quiet and peaceful. We spent the whole afternoon sitting on the porch reading & relaxing. It was interesting reading all the old guest books and the stories of the people who worked there. Definitely use the provided metal food pantry to store your food as there are mice in the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked except for bowls for soup, cereal, etc. We ended up using our bike lights at night. The provided lanterns aren't super bright. It's definitely worth the trip up there. The Museum next door is neat. Two nights minimum would be best if you book in advance.

This is usually our favorite place to stay. Unfortunately, when we arrived on our last visit the cabin hadn't been cleaned, and was absolutely filthy. The bathroom in particular was in a disgusting and unhygienic state that I will refrain from describing in more detail here. It seems like the camp host should at least inspect the cabin before each new group checks in. If not, what are they there for?

I hesitate putting into words what a great experience this was. It took us four attempts to reserve this cabin, and after visiting it's very understandable why. It was our first visit, but wish it had been our tenth. Great place to relax, read a book, fish for trout, hike... we will definitely return! One of the best "camping" experiences ever! The cabin had everything.. bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, shower, water... but no electricity (which did not pose a problem, but bring lights). We will definitely return!... if we can get a reservation.

Imagine the sounds of birds, fresh mountain air, watching visiting deer, a moose across the St.Joe grazing, the soothing sound of the river! There is nothing like it! ( clicking my ruby red slippers 3 times)”there’s no place like Red Ives!
