Wonderful, authentic little cabin in a great setting!! Be prepared to clean on arrival as more and more people only do the minimum before departing. Don’t forget a decent bedroll and propane!

Cabin was very nice. We enjoyed the hike in and out from West Bridger.

Spent 2 nights here. Upon arrival the cabin was very clean and free of dead mice. VERY well stocked with propane, cleaning supplies, and cooking utensils. The outside area needed a little upkeep but nothing that hindered me from having a great weekend.

Great spot, nice cabin. FS took out mattress’s and we never got a notice. Rough night and stiff next day.

Another great trip to our favorite cabin! FYI, there IS verizon cell reception about 1/2 mile from the cabin. Go to the bottom of the Tie Cutter trail, which is also where the Placer Gulch trail reaches the valley bottom about 4-500 yards from the cabin, then up Tie Cutter about 2-3 switchbacks. Could be handy in an emergency.

The cabin is absolutely wonderful! There is an outhouse, 1 full size bed and 2 bunk beds (mattresses are stored inside the frame of the full size bed. There have been some extra supplies left at the cabin through the years, so there were a few items we forgot that ended up being there. There are brooms and cleaning spray for cleaning up after you leave. The cabin is in a little meadow next to a wonderful creek. We came in on the Placer Gulch ATV trail. Its only 5-6 miles of ATV trail, but it took us about 45min - 1hr. Its a good trail, but its all cut out on very steep and rocky sidehills. The trail is pretty level in most places, but the drop off is steep and you don't want to make a mistake (and if you're scared of heights like I am, the trail might make you a bit nervous. We actually came in when it was dark and I did better with that because I couldn't see just how high up and how steep it was, haha! Low and slow, you'll do fine). There are other ATV trails that start just before you get to the cabin; they are similar to the trail you'll come in on; mostly steep sided and cut into a sidehill; but the scenery is worth it. We also saw horse/hike trails in the area. We made a big loop and covered most of the trails in the immediate area in a day. This was an absolutely wonderful way to spend the weekend. The creek is cold and great for cooling off. The cabin is very rustic, but perfect in every way. Very charming place to get away from it all; no cell service unless you drive back out to the top of the mountain.

Deer Creek Cabin was in a beautiful location with lots of floor space, amenities, and a stream nearby for filtering water from. At a relatively low location making for a good destination during shoulder seasons. The hike in is pretty and the ATV doubletrack is easy to follow. The given coordinates do not appear to be correct.

Very quite, trail was good. Fishing was not good. All the fish were to small to keep.

This was our 4th year at this cabin for 4th of July. Half of our party came in from the South and the other half came in from the North on Placier Gulch Trail. The cabin itself was well stocked from other patrons and fairly clean. The grass around the area had overgrown a little due to the new motor vehicle restrictions at the gate not allowing the grass to be kept down, but there were walking paths created to the outhouse within a couple of hours. We gathered firewood from the downed trees on the trail leading into the cabin and made use of our new chainsaw. We saw a few deer, a bald eagle on the 4th (great timing), and our kids had a bit of luck pulling trout out of the stream. After multiple fires, moon rises, and over 50 miles of ATV riding we still were not ready to leave. Can't wait to come back next year!
