Nice cabin, wood stove kept it very warm. There were quite a few full propane tanks. Also trash that people did not pack out. Hike is somewhat of a climb, but it was worth dragging a sled in, the way out was able to ride the sled with our gear out.

Awesome little cabin. Beautiful hike up. Snowshoes were helpful.

This cabin was great! We were actually able to drive all the way to the locked gate though it was pretty sketchy with all the snow so would maybe not recommend. Lovely snowshoe in, good views. Some snowmobilers did leave us a nasty note on our truck about ‘blocking’ the very closed and gated road (never mind there was plenty of space for snowmobiles to go by, and that they aren’t even allowed up to the cabin), threatening that “next time we’d get towed,” so beware I guess. It went down to almost negative double-digits and the wood stove kept the cabin toasty-warm! Waited for it to get up to 0 degrees and snowshoed out. The propane lamp appeared to be broken FYI, didn’t want to mess with it and find out, so definitely bring your own light(s). Really neat fold-down tables and cool cabin design. Overall, another great USFS cabin!

We stayed on Jan 16. The road going up to the cabin was a solid sheet of ice. Our regular cab truck couldn’t make it. We parked and walked the extra 1/2 mile to the gate. On the southwest slopes no snow at all but several inches at the top and north facing slopes. Fire tower is locked. You cannot climb to the top which was disappointing. But the views are still amazing and the cabin was clean and snug. We actually got hot. The wood stove is amazing. Love this cabin and would go back again! You won’t regret this trip!
