We were able to drive right to the gate due to lack of snow, thankfully, and our doggos really loved the brief mile hike up the remainder of the road to the cabin. We found the cabin extremely clean, stocked with firewood, and quite cozy for two humans and two doggos. While the wind howled outside, we were snugly inside our winter wonderland reading some very intriguing guestbook entries. This was my first stay at a FS cabin, and I have to say, when I got home, I started checking out others in my area so I could do it again. 4G service is available, but you will want to turn off your phone in order to truly enjoy your off-the-grid experience.

The cabin was clean and very comfortable. There was enough wood for the fire pit and the wood stove. It was a great experience. I would only recommend supplying more toilet paper.

More convenient than hiking to find a camp spot, afraid with todays time constraints those days are gone. Beautiful view... would have been spectacular if the lookout tower was accessible. Had a great time and met lots of locals rambling up the dead end road. Looking forward to checking out other recreation.gov sights throughout Montana.
