The historic restoration is very cool - rustic and authentic. Surrounding area and trails are very beautiful.

We enjoyed your stay at Robert's Cabin. It is relatively secluded and really a cool experience. It is pretty cool to imagine yourself living in the cabin back in the days that it was built. We were pretty freaked out when we arrived and there was a sign in the doorway about mice and the Hantavirus. The place smelled like bleach, so we weren't sure if there had been some active cleaning of nests/mice before we arrived. There were also activated mice traps all over the edges of the place on the main and top floors. However, we didn't see or hear any mice during out one day and night there. There were propane lanterns, a normal and usable broom, info, some random gear for camping, some books and games. The mattresses were stored in tarps that were zipped up when we arrived. So we felt safe on them. We used our sleeping bags on top because we didn't know to bring sheets and blankets. I think they were all twin size? There were a total of 5 beds I believe - on on the main level and 4 up top. It was SUPER cold overnight. I didn't realize the cabin was at 11,000 feet elevation, so definitely something to be aware of, especially if you have young kids or are sensitive to elevation. We were quite cold even with all the windows shut and in June. It's also a little spooky in there at night. We definitely made good use of our headlamps : ) The view is spectacular and having the whole property to yourself is really magnificent. There is a fire pit and a couple axes so you can make your own fire and hang out there at night if there isn't a fire ban. Overall, I would say this was one of the highlights of our vacation. It was really a unique once in a lifetime experience. And one night is prob enough : )

There was trash, gun shells and orange disks scratched on the property. An employee showed up unannounced and without a mask. We rented the the cabin in the middle of nowhere to avoid people, but they showed up. I felt he was there to check up on us. The cabin itself is great.
