Had a great time staying here - gorgeous views and plenty of space for wandering around. A window needed repair but it didn’t affect our stay other than being a bit of an eye sore. We’d definitely come back!

Southerly weather fronts came in day after day. The lookout flooded with water leaking in through the windows and ceiling. South window frames are rotted and bow in with the wind gusts. When conditions are nice, the location is unbeatable. When inclement, the lookout really shows it's age/disrepair. Wood stove struggles to make it warm when the temp is below 40, heat just flies up the stove pipe. Lookout is drafty in strong winds. Siding is bowing/bug infestation. Amazing views though. I have stayed a Drake a lot over the years and it's really near end of life/in dire need of maintenance. Bathroom is new and in great shape. Endless amount of amazing stuff to explore around the area, on foot out the front door, or within 15 minutes drive, or further. Substones, hot springs, petroglyphs, trails, fishing, birding, etc.

Door doesn’t stay shut. But I still loved the solitude. One of the cots has a big rip in it.
