Overall the location and ambiance are superb, but the USFS needs to call a timeout and do some serious work on the cabin. 1. Health and safety. The cabin has an infestation of fleas or bedbugs (or both) and needs to be fumigated. All three members of our party were bitten, with up to a dozen bites or more. Particularly, all the living room seating/couches, the futons, and the back bunk room are infested. This is a recurring issue, as we encountered the same same thing during our last stay. As long as guests continue to occupy without a two-week plus break to fumigate and break the reproductive cycle, guests are at risk of vector-borne disease or allergic reactions. 2. Facilities. The stove top works but the oven does not. All the couches are broken down and need to be replaced (e.g. their is no support in the mid-sections and you simply sink nearly to the floor. The screen doors and windows need attention to remove gaps in their frames.

This is a lovely place to spend a few days! The area is very quiet and there were a few hiking trails just a short distance away. The cabin itself is beautiful and very spacious. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. and we had no problem finding everything we needed to cook meals. There is a fire ring and propane BBQ with some outdoor furniture and a few benches for seating. We brought some board games, but it wasn't really necessary as there is a large shelf in the living room with tons of puzzles, board games, pens and pencils, and a few books. A few games were missing some pieces, but it was still plenty to entertain the group for a couple of days. The main bedroom has a queen, the second bedroom had 2 sets of bunk beds (1 was a twin over double) and there were two futons also available. My only complaint is that not all the windows had screens so we were unable to open as many windows as I would have liked which made it hot and muggy at night. Plus some of the widows that did have screens were ill-fitting so the bugs were terrible and we got really bit up while there. There were 3 working portable fans, but I'd bring one or two fans if you are planning on staying during the summer.

Rustic and lovely cabin. The Oven in not currently operational, so be prepared and bring extra propane for the grill. We left the cabin cleaner than we found it. Many folks take great care and love of this cabin. Please do the same and clean it up upon your exit. We've stayed at this cabin a few times. Keep trash put up as sometimes a bear comes down near the cabin. Don't leave food scraps around.

What a great spot to get out of the heat of Tucson….and so close by. The cabin was clean, well stocked (much better than we could have imagined). Ceiling fans and several portable fans made the bedrooms very comfortable. The large deck is a perfect space to relax, watch birds and dine Al fresco. We absolutely loved our stay.

We enjoyed the cabin and this was our 2nd time staying there. Lots of adventures and the cabin is comfortable. But this last time we stayed, this past Monday - Wednesday we had major issues with mice. I was sleeping but my son and grandkids were up most of the night. They said mice came out and was running around all over the counter tops. My granddaughter even got a video of a mouse taking stuff and running off with it. So they grabbed The food items sitting out and put it in the refrigerator or rubber maid tubs we had. The cabin really needs to be exterminated.
