This was probably myself and my friends 20th time staying here. We Always have a great time as there is no cell phone service do we can enjoy all there is to offer at and around the cabin. The wood stove keeps the place at an easy toasty 70 degrees. And easy walk down to the river 2-3 times a day is so relaxing and hiking tge UNH trail across the street is a beautiful hike. Plenty of space in the cabin to move around and not feel crowded. Huge front covered porch makes sitting out in any weather great. Can't wait until next time...

No problems encountered.... Rangers stopped by to ensure all was well. Being winter/February snowshoeing was the only activity.

We had a great stay at Radeke, but if you come in the winter, BE PREPARED FOR THE COLD! When we arrived at 11 pm on Friday, it was -22 degrees outside (not windchill). Inside the cabin it was 20 degrees and unfortunately the wood burning stove is dramatically undersized for the cabin. It took us 2 hours and a lot of wood to get the inside up to 40 degrees in the main room. Forget sleeping on the bunks in the winter because they are so far from the stove. I would highly recommend a 0-20 degree sleeping bag and plenty of layers if it's supposed to be cold. It's a very quaint cabin and a really fun, rustic stay. However, I think the Forest Service should raise the rates to fund a newer, more efficient stove to heat the room in the winter. A lot of the heat seems lost up the flue and the inside just never seems to heat up.
