Spent a week at the cabin, temps around or below freezing and Cabin worked out great, we took a boat in, was about a 2 mile hike in from the drop off point with a the river crossing. used about 8 gallons of fuel for the heater that was running mainly at night and late evenings. From the cabin we hiked miles in every direction throughout the week, beautiful place. Just a note to add have a secondary exit plan, where the boat dropped us at froze over and we were unable to go out the way we came in but made it work going out long bay. Would love to go back and stay again.

The heater did not seem to put out much heat... But, even with that the experience was amazing. Access description could do a better job in describing how to find the trailhead on the Long Bay side. Also, the sign was not visible from the water and the trail name portion was broken off.
