Smaller than most cabins you can rent from the USFS in the area, situated in a tight valley between a scree slope and a road, though lightly traveled road. This cabin is of course cheaper than most but better than a tent. It is also a benefit to be able to reserve something in the area as many of the campgrounds along Rock Creek and other nearby areas are first come first serve only. We used this as a guaranteed spot to stay between white water rafting trips so it served it's purpose. Clean cabin and works well for the price. Road in is gravel but in good condition from Phillipsburg. Vault toilet is shared with campground.

The cabin was perfect for our hunting trip and the kids loved. Plenty of firewood and the wood stove kept it very warm.

Quaint little cabin off the grid! Good access during winter months due to Rock creek road having lots of private homes along the corridor.

Great unmanned campground off the beaten path. However, the roads are not marked so it's not recommended to come in at night. Also, when we got in, the cabin was locked so we ended up just taking a site at the campground across the road. Scenic area far from civilization, but if you've been in a tent for a week, as we were, and are looking for a one-night break in a cabin, beware that you're rolling the dice.
