Awesome spot! Stunning, panoramic views. Access in winter snowshoeing from Billy Bob Sno Park was easy and straightforward. The lookout fully stocked with all cookware, mugs, plates, silverware etc. and the wood stove was super cozy. I highly recommend bringing your own sheet for the bed even if you’re using sleeping bags. Since this is a self-clean facility and only periodically maintained and restocked by the forest service, it’s only as clean as those who left it before you, so you never know what you’re going to get. I also recommend bringing your own TP just in case the outhouse runs out. Overall, awesome lookout and great experience!

The lookout was well stocked with all the essentials needed to cook, clean and be entertained! Be sure to bring an item like tp, paper towel, or cleaning wipes to replenish what you use and leave for the next guest.

Stunning. My 4 yr old and I loved it! Fivemile was her fifth lookout rental. The oven and such needs better directions on lighting pilot lights. Luckily I had an idea but it’s not easy.

Very neat spot, jumped on the trail just outside for some hiking. Lookout was clean, felt like it was stocked with everything we needed to cook food. We made a fire that kept the lookout nice and warm all evening and night. My only concern was I never got the code to the gate in my email. I had trouble getting in touch with someone that could tell me the code because it was a Sunday and all the offices were closed. This caused some stress not knowing if we would be able to get in.
