Wow! Josh (a volunteer, I think) did such a phenomenal job restoring a lot of the wood work on the interior of the cabin. It is stunning. There's also a new box springs and mattress! The lookout has a fantastic view of Mt. Hood (we didn't see Adams or Ranier due to clouds to the north) and was very comfortable. Everything was working well (minus the lights - but there were two lanterns) and there was plenty of wood for the stove. This is one of my favorite lookouts. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing. Such a cool spot to be out in nature and relax. This place was super clean and kept up inside. Thank you to everyone before that stayed and kept up this place and to the future people that will as well.

Such a beautiful location! Very clean and well stocked with wood. Having the gas stove was a major plus.

This place will always have my heart! We pulled a sled up with unnecessary gear + water from the snopark. Didn't see a soul the entire trip. Hank (our pup) was afraid of the stairs at first (they do get steep/short towards the top) but braved up so we only had to carry him down the first time 😂 The lock is a little tricky but you'll get it if you play with it a bit. Very well equipped w/ supplies, especially in terms of cookware. Stove top worked great. Cute string lights in the ceiling. Would recommend not loading up the basket to the max with wood unless you want to get ripped. Shed full of wood - read the signs to make sure you're snagging the dry stuff. Would recommend bringing a large blanket as a separator from the mattress and yourself if you can swing it. Cell service is good with AT&T and Verizon so airplane mode works great if you want to pretend you're off the grid. The entire surrounding area is gorgeous, with views of Hood, Adams, and even Rainier on a clear day. I proposed to my gf on the lookout's deck as we watched the sun set down behind the mountain. Celebrated w/ wine and Mountain House (she's a keeper) and froze our fannies off shooting the stars. This lookout is absolutely magical and I'm absolutely biased ;) The best front porches on the planet are on this website

Nice stop for lunch at Kramer's market in Dufur and then out to the Billy Bob Snopark. Nice snowshoe up to the lookout. Took the trail up and the road for the return. Lookout was cozy.
