The fire house is amazing! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Hiking visitors are definitely a thing. Appreciate the instructions for the toilet. The views are phenomenal and everything we expected was there. The following is a comment for the managers: there were a large amount of spent ammunition and rounds of live ammunition at the parking area for the hike (one mile), I'm not sure how to advocate for people being more responsible with their waste in this area. That being said, the tower was awesome!

Loved it! Much like many of the other fire lookout towers we've visited and this one had electricity and a working kitchen! Woah! It was great not only to read reviews on this website but also on AllTrails as we prepared. The weather couldn't have been better for us. Thankfully, we didn't experience the high winds and ice others did but I can see how all those things (walking, using restroom, etc) could be challenging in those conditions. If anything, we were hot (but preferred it over being cold). Visitors in the AM are definitely a thing! I was able to conduct a couple of business calls/presentations from downstairs. Will be back... As always, thanks USFS!!

The bathroom's little challenge to get to And I wish they had put the lock Box for beatbox for the key and a little better position to get to. The views from here are everything you could hope for! The building is 2 stories with full 360 windows and 2 beds upstairs on the upper level and a lower level with a small window, bunk beds, and a full functional kitchen but no running water. Note that the upstairs windows are single pane plexiglass and therefore it's not very warm after dark, especially when the wind is howling. During our visit in January, the wind was blowing so hard at night that I could see the windows deflecting. So plan on bringing warm clothes and warm bedding/sleeping bag. The lower floor is warmer. If you want to experience something unique and enjoy endless views, this is the place for you! Would recommend.
