Road up to the gate is rough but we were able to drive our Ford Focus (low clearance) all the way up to the gate. (In mid July mind you) I just drove very slow and took my time. Beautiful place truly a bucket list destination. Bring your own water and TP and a trash bag to haul your own trash out. Got an excellent surprise from local wildlife. One of the greatest sunsets I have ever seen. Took a long time to get an open reservation it’s in such demand. A place we will never forget. Enjoy

We had an excellent stay for 2 nights. We stayed end of June and had some afternoon storms, which was lots of fun in the tower. The beds are fine and you have a stove & fridge, so you just need to bring sleeping bags (possibly a twin sheet as well), pillows (they had pillows but not sure I'd go that route), food, water, dining supplies, cleaning supplies, and yourself! There were some disposal cooking items, but given others might not clean thoroughly we were happy to bring our own pots & pans and dishes. It was just two of us, so we were upstairs. The downstairs was fine but definitely smelled like a hamster cage and sounds like the heating doesn't reliably work down there. The upstairs heating and fan worked great for cool nights and hot days. Note that people are obnoxious and will walk up to the tower in spite of multiple signs saying they aren't allowed. Next time, we plan to bring a thick rope or chain to block the bottom of the stairs so you don't wake from a nap with someone leering in at you. I hope we get lucky enough to stay again in the future since it was amazing!!

One of the best overnight experiences of my life. Who needs 5 star hotels! We walked about a mile and a half in the snow but it was so worth it. The tower was super clean and warm. Would love to go again but it is booked solid.

The fire house is amazing! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Hiking visitors are definitely a thing. Appreciate the instructions for the toilet. The views are phenomenal and everything we expected was there. The following is a comment for the managers: there were a large amount of spent ammunition and rounds of live ammunition at the parking area for the hike (one mile), I'm not sure how to advocate for people being more responsible with their waste in this area. That being said, the tower was awesome!

What a great place to stay. We spent three nights and even had some Mountain Goats try to climb up the steps.
