Awesome experience. We visited in March. Arrived during a gorgeous spring day; departed in a wild winter storm. Hike: Two miles approximately; nice up hill climb. We forgot our snowshoes and did pretty good despite. Took about 2 hours with some a few good stops. Encountered skiers and snowshoers. Fire Tower: Basic accommodations with an incredible view. Four beds however the top area (2 beds) and bottom area (2 beds) is NOT connected by indoor stairs. You need to go outside to reach either level. The wind was mighty when we visited and shook the tower and roof and windows. Incredible star views when the cloud parted. We used zero degree bags and kept warm. Overall a really cool experience.

Had a great time. First day it was so cloudy We couldn’t see 10 feet past the windows, but when we woke up the next morning, we saw a full moon and the sun rising pretty awesome. The people before us had left some water, food, burritos, appreciated that too. We left water and some dehydrated meals for the next lucky group. We slept downstairs as it is probably easier to heat, so if you’re gonna sleep upstairs, be ready for chilly weather due to plexiglass windows. We were glad we drove to the gate, as it was quite a hike carrying up water. Wouldn’t recommend driving to the gate unless you have a good four-wheel-drive and not a lot of snow expected.

We had such a lovely stay here! It was incredibly windy, so bring some ear plugs. The place was clean and stocked with some games! Wonderful to watch the sunrise and sunset! Highly recommend!

Had to snowshoe up. Didn't know there was a wind advisory that night until I reached the top (max 90ph winds). Had I known about the wind advisory beforehand, I would not have gone up. Luckily I had ear plugs and slept soundly (downstairs). It's an amazing place. Just a little unsettling in high wind!
