Carried up 11 liters of water for 1 night for 2 people. Ended up using about 7 liters between cooking, cleaning, and drinking. Big front right burner on stove does not work. Sign/string gate to dissuade hikers from climbing to upper deck is missing/inadequate. Need a more permanent chain/wooden sign... too windy for a lamented paper one. But the draw down door worked well. Overall great place to spend the night and would highly recommend. I will be back for sure.

Had a very pleasant stay in Oct. Made an attempt to leave the place nicer than I found it. Such a beautiful piece of history and we’re lucky to have it. Hopefully the state keeps funding it and keeps it running well.

Amazing place to stay. Might want to bring earplugs or take some Benadryl to help you sleep because the windows rattle in the wind. Extremely windy - be prepared for that. Also if it’s a full moon you’re going to want an eye mask. Don’t forget to close the trap door over the stairs if you don’t want hikers coming upstairs and bothering you.

Highly recommend this experience. We had power, there are two twin beds upstairs and a bunk bed downstairs. There are also space heaters on both levels, and a fully stocked kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and a fridge and freezer. There are also outlets to charge your phones. The toilet is out back and it is an incinerating toilet, make sure to empty the ash pan BEFORE and AFTER your stay! I wish I did more research on that beforehand. Thank you so much for the stay and enjoy your time here!
