We were pleasantly surprised as we did not do our due diligence and call the ranger prior to that Memorial weekend stay (after Covid Times). The cabin (once we finally got to it via route 64 East’s Grandview Pass Overlook) was clean comfortable, cozy and most importantly rustic! We left it the way we arrived / received it after our 2-day stay. We were glad we bought our pillows as there were non at the cabin (our fault). The electricity was a welcome happenstance. We had a clean fridge and well stocked 🪵 logs in the back for the evening. We had read about the accommodations prior to our arrival but were not sure what to expect. We bought matches and extra logs and learned from Tusayan folks how best to approach the cabin via our rental convertible coupe without risking sleeping in the car! It would have been nice to have brought our own bedsheets as we arrived after nightfall, and made it all the way past the 1.5 mile gravel road (after opening the Hull Cabin secluded gates meant to keep the cows away). We enjoyed the comfy fleece blanket we bought the following day from downtown Tusayan as it came handy. My girlfriend took charge of the logs and keeping the fire simmering in the rustic stove as it was just the two of us. The following day, it was time for the Ice frigēre bucket challenge in the WC quarters next door after the Bright Angel Trail was over and done with. That was a highlight. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The place was apparently clean considering it was closed prior in the season due to the pandemic. No sign of Mice lie, monkeys exaggerate … type of shennadegins.

It was secluded and quiet, but close enough to get back and forth quickly. The cabin updates (electric lighting, new refrigerator, stove) were a welcome surprise. It was rustic, but very clean and comfortable. The wood burning stove kept us warm on a chilly night. We read a story about the Haunted Hull Cabin, but encountered no ghosts...or mice. The water tanks (ponds) were dry in mid-May, so we didn't see as much wildlife as we hoped, but there was a lot of wildlife sign around. Cattle on the National Forest roads were a constant source of entertainment and caused a few driving delays.

We love Hull Cabin! Sit back, hang out on the front porch, grill your steaks on an open fire, and put your feet up. Hull Cabin is the place to reset your compass!
