No cell service. Oh well. Great location. Beautiful space with so much history.

Historically this cabin is amazing! You cannot beat the orchards and actually staying in someones 100 + year old home. The Cedar Forest across from the cabin is a neat walk and the creek is fishable. The cabin isn't "super clean" but you're camping with a roof over your head essentialy. Lots of bugs and bats...but we were spared the mice so that was nice. Cabin needs some dishsoap and cleaning supplies so bring your own. This is just a very cool place to get to stay and be a part of history...priceless!

Very neat historical cabin! The pictures do not do this cabin justice. Described pretty well- it’s old and up-kept. Peaceful surroundings. The mosquitoes were not too bad but it’s early summer still. The outhouse is almost full,However It was stocked well with Tp and the smell was not too bad. Hornet nests were forming in the top corners of outhouse. Furnace , fridge and stovetop burners worked great we didn’t use oven- mice sign was all over it! Bottom bed was actually comfortable and had clean plastic mattress protector (queen size)! Clean surfaces well- bring cleaning wipes nothing too harsh as the surfaces are almost all wood! There was signs of mice all over.We set a trap and got two.The cabin had an assortment of dishes and utensils pots/ pans. No cell reception which is perfect!

We really enjoyed our stay. A very nicely stocked kitchen. Make sure to bring mattress covers. The ones on the beds are very stained.

We had a great stay here! We have a minivan with snow tires and were able to drive all the way up to the cabin on the roads with no issues in mid-February. We stayed with 6 adults/3 couples and each couple was able to have their own room. Cabin had everything we needed for cooking/eating. The heating worked great and we stayed plenty warm at night. Enjoy!

The cabin is charming and was very clean. Thank you, previous renters! The location by the river is nice but had lots of visitors park by the cabin to go fishing. The biggest complaint is that the cabin was recently restored but not to historic preservation standards. It is a shame that the FS historians allowed the electricity to be installed and for God's sakes they put in an electric furnace in lieu of the wood stoves. The charm of renting a truly historic 1908 cabin is no longer there. The place desperately needs screens. Flies and mosquitoes are ubiquitous. "Wire Cloth" (window screens) were in common use by the late 1800's.

Wonderful little cabin and we really enjoyed it. It wouldn't hurt to keep a bucket of lime in the outhouse to keep down the smell and if I ever can stay there in the warmer months, I sure hope there are screens for those windows.
