I have made many trips during the last 20+ years to the Caribou Creek Cabin on Resurrection Pass Trail. It's a lovely overnight destination. This year, given the weather associated with climate change, the trail was particularly icy. I was able to receive valuable information from the ranger at the Seward Ranger Station. However, I'm concerned with the recent federal budget cuts, this possible life-saving position will be eliminated. I noticed the cabin's bench/railing has been removed. Again, with budget cuts, these important cabins may no longer be maintained.

The cabin was clean, well stocked, and well maintained. We tried to leave in it in better condition then we found it. We so appreciate this program and opportunity. Thank you Recreaction.gov

Cabin was clean, good wood supply, nice hatchet for splitting wood. The top bunks are too close to the ceiling.

We have stayed here in the winter twice now and it is a fantastic little cabin! Just an FYI, the stove is pretty skinny and only fits a couple logs at a time. There are also lots of windows, so if the fire goes out, it gets cold quickly. The river is also nearly impossible to access in the winter due to snow load, so bring plenty of drinking water. Every other year snow machines are allowed on the trail and this year they were allowed which made the trail really nice for skiing/snowshoeing out. Highly recommend this cabin!
